What is it for?
If you have a problem with wind related downdraught caused by nearby tall buildings/trees or incorrect chimney height, this can manifest as both a lack of draw (updraught) and as a downdraught problem. This Vedette style chimney cowl deals with such turbulence by preventing direct entry to the cowl exit, whilst allowing smoke and fumes to disperse easily. Quietly operating in all weather conditions this non-directional static chimney cowl suitable for all fuel types really delivers!
How do I fit one?
Once up on the roof, the Windmaster is fitted using the sleeve, external integral legs and stainless steel strap provided. In order to achieve a tight fit, the use of high temperature silicon or sealant on a flue, or mortar on a chimney pot is recommended.
What sizes & options are available?
Each Windmaster is manufactured to suit the individual flue or pot size as a tight fit is required for the Windmaster to operate correctly. A Windmaster Cowl can be fitted to a round flue or pot with internal diameters between 100mm to 304mm. The Windmaster is made in stainless steel. In order to comply with regulations the Windmaster for gas systems comes factory fitted with mesh birdguard inserts. An adaptor for a square chimney pot is also available upon request.
